Notice the perfect, filtered sunlight. This is about as much sun as most
fuchsias can like. But they can stand more sun...

More pictures of Heydon.
("camera cheat" - not so blue...
actually, white, soft pink and powder blue)
Some fuchsias really have a beatiful blue colour, but I must admit that
the bottom picture here is a bit too blue. Heydon does however have a startling
lavender-blue, very double corolla and pinkish-white tube and sepals. It
is very free flowering. Actually so free flowering that the branches occasionally
break from the weight of the flowers. The growth is lax bush and will need
staking as a bush. I haven't tried Heydon as a basket plant but I assume
it would excel as one. Use light weights
.
P.S.
Heydon has been around among fuchsiasts here in Sweden for many years but
under the 'false name'. 'Crusader'. Due to its beauty it has been widely
spread under this name so I hereby urge Swedish visitors to this page to
change the names of their 'Crusaders' to 'Heydon', unless you have bought
'Crusader' from a nursery. Then it's probably true you have a 'Crusader'.
