Aurora Superba
Aurora Superba - Cannell 1879 USA B/T S orangepink orange
(A picture of Aurora Superba with more true colours HERE)
A very nice orange fuchsia. Seapls are apricot coloured and corolla
deep orange.
Heat tolerant and free flowering. The foliage is is very large
and the leaves curl and crinkle. It looks like something is wrong with
the plant but it's normal. The flowers are large and of good substance.
This cultivar is almost impossible to distinguish from 'Lord Lonsdale'.
First thought to be of British origin, but according to 'Journal
of Horticulture', 1879 : 'Aurea Superba' (nb. alternative name!) is American.
